With the new Wi-Fi capabilities of the Blueair 680i air purifier, you are now able to connect the air purifier via your smartphone, Wi-Fi network and make changes to how it operates. This can be done via the Blueair Friend App which is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. Just like the ‘650E’, the Blueair 680i air purifier has a built-in sensor designed to detect changes in VOC’s and PM2.5. In addition, the 680i also offers humidity and temperature sensing capabilities.

Blueair air purifier filtration

The Blueair 680i, as with all other Blueair air purifiers, uses a Three-Stage Progressive Filter – a filter that resembles having many filters in one.
The filter is made up out of three different levels of millions of ultra thin fibers, and with its ‘lock-in’ design, once captured the particles are not re-released back into your environment, even when the filter is heavily loaded.

The first layers capture larger particles like pollen and dust, and the later layers capture smaller particles like bacteria and exhaust particles. The 680i filter kit includes three filters with enhanced active carbon; one for each side that clean air is released from the unit.

Regular air purifier filters are thinner and mostly consist of the same fiber size and material throughout, this leads to them clogging up sooner. However, the unique design of the Blueair 680i Three-Stage Progressive Filter resists clogging and allows the 680i to perform longer on its peak performance.
The 680i Filter includes 0.9kg of activated carbon for odour and gas filtration. This removes gaseous pollutants such as cigarette and cigar smoke, or other VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) such as household paints.

When the filter needs to be replaced (around every six months), just open the lid, take out the old filter and put the new one in. No screws, hooks or tools are needed.
